Introduction
Can
the most popular family sedan in 2012, Amerika.Toyota Camry looks a
little more sharply, including a more aggressive front grille and side
profile. Harder, more lines exterior ring angles. There
are even lip service paid to the sporty handling, an attempt to woo
buyers who already writes from Toyota as the Old New Buick.
The new Toyota Camry is not too different from the latter. And it's not a bad thing. For
one thing, the 2012 Toyota Camry offers an improved version of last
year's engine: a polite powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder and
268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. Both engines also joined the six-speed automatic transmission to deliver better fuel economy. Four-cylinder
engine returns an EPA-estimated 35 mpg highway, while the V6 - with
nearly 100 more horses - up to 30 mpg on the highway. There is also a Camry Hybrid, enclosed in a separate review.
Suspension improvements have been made to enliven the Camry handling dynamics. There are even paddle shifters on the SE model, offers manual control of automatic transmissions and rev-matched downshifts. That's
not to say the 2012 Camry is really sporty, but it does not instill the
spirit of a little more into the rock-solid legacy cozy, comfortable
ride quality.

Powertrains and Performance
In this aspect of the Toyota Camry is offered with two engine options. Camry base supported by a strong 2.5-liter four-cylinder politely that produces 178 hp and 170 pound-feet of torque. Your upgrade will be silky smooth 3.5-liter V6 producing 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. Both engines drive the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Four-cylinder
engine returns an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city/35 highway/28 combined,
while the V6 - with almost 100 hp more - 21/30/25 achieve.
In
performance testing Edmunds, four-cylinder Camry LE is accelerated from
zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds, which is comparable to other
four-cylinder sedan in this class.
Driving Impressions
In terms of power, the Toyota Camry has a second four-cylinder and V6 engines are quite similar to last year's model. The new Camry power steering (very limited on hybrids) was pretty decent in the V6 version. But the four-cylinder version, which uses electric steering from different suppliers, feeling somewhat vague and lifeless. On
the bright side, the new Toyota Camry feels more planted to the road
and less distracted by the bumps, the result of fine tuning the rear
suspension. SE in particular, with larger tires and sport-tuned suspension, feels more athletic than ever before.
Safety
In
terms of safety of the Toyota Camry is equipped with a standard battery
of safety features, including antilock brakes with brake assist,
stability control, front and rear seat side airbags, side airbags
full-length curtain and knee airbags for both driver and passengers, the
last new for 2012 . A blind-spot monitoring system is also available.
